Aamirah
Khafre
Aamirah Khafre is an interdisciplinary artist focusing in printmaking, graphic design and textiles.
Born and raised in North Philadelphia, PA, A.K. is currently practicing and studying in The Bay Area on a full scholarship where she is earning a Fine Art BFA at California College of the Arts. A.K. uses various craft media to exercise the concept of trusting the process within her personal development. With her practice, she creates visual metaphors of lostness within self discovery and development in relation to societal teaching through works such as Lost in Self, Searching in Bliss.
While she is expanding out, A.K.’s primary focus has been in printmaking, where she has studied at the Fabric Workshop and Museum and Brandywine Workshop and Archives, both of Philadelphia. A.K. started the design intervention POSED PERCEPTION, a message of duality that believes perspective is everything. Among her goals with the intervention is to acknowledge self-development and create spaces of authentic engagement in an effort to build longstanding community. She has collaborated with other artists in events such as A Curators Circle, A Hood Perspective, A Good Perspective and Speaking My Language: The Love Edition.
